New training available from Inspir.ed

In her report (November 2016, Teaching Schools Council)  Dame Reena Keeble cited the research she engaged in to determine key features of Effective Primary Practice which states clearly the importance of developing effective teaching, and Gordon Stobart in his book Expert Learners is equally clear that what they need above all else is expert teachers.

Dame Keeble asks how sure you are that your teachers “know the difference between surface/shallow and deep learning. This is not about pupils’ dispositions to learning, but rather a reflection of the depth of understanding a pupil gains as a direct result of the actions of the teacher.”

Inspir.ed has recently developed INSET that can be provided to schools in the form of an INSET day or 3 Professional Development Meetings that addresses the need to understand deep learning and how it can best be achieved by teachers in classrooms. Alternatively Inspir.ed will advertise day conferences in 2017/18 to which schools might send one or two delegates in order to equip them to lead on this important aspect in their school.
